Tuesday Tip – Office Holiday Party Do’s and Don’ts

Office holiday party season has kicked-off. It never hurts to review the rules that successful people follow so they can face their co-workers the next day.

  • It’s OK to be the first to arrive but don’t be the last to arrive
  • Do speak to each C-Suite member you see, don’t avoid them
  • Do remember it is a business event, don’t mistake it for a college party
  • Do sample everything, don’t stuff your face like you haven’t eaten all month
  • Do order a drink you don’t like to pace yourself, don’t guzzle drinks one after another
  • Do keep your secret office romance a secret, don’t start showing PDA at the party
  • Do shake hands and tell everyone goodbye, don’t sneak out
  • Do make an appearance at the after party, don’t forget it is still business
  • Do look like you are enjoying yourself, don’t look bored or bothered
  • Do have fun and let your hair down, don’t forget you have to face these people tomorrow

Everyone has their own office party horror story just don’t be that person who has a library full of them. Keep these rules in mind as you show up to this year’s office holiday party. Share your office holiday party horror story in the comments below.
